Practice tools

Reading about spatial reasoning only gets you so far. Timed practice is where the skill actually builds. We run two small, free tools for that.

GIA spatial practice (main tool)

thomas-gia.pyxel.run is a browser-based quiz of GIA-style spatial-reasoning questions. You answer against a timer and see how you did. Your answers stay in your browser while you use it; nothing is sent to our servers.

It is best used after you have read the spatial visualisation guide and the rotation and mirroring guide, so you know what to look for in each question instead of guessing.

GIA practice (test version)

thomas-gia-test.pyxel.run is the test build of the same idea, where newer question styles and changes are tried first. Expect it to change more often and to have rougher edges. If something looks broken, tell us.

What these tools are not

  • They are not the real assessment and are not made by or affiliated with Thomas International.
  • They do not predict your real score. Questions, difficulty and timing differ from the real test, and the real test is scored in ways that differ by employer.
  • They do not cover every GIA section. They focus on spatial reasoning, so use the guides for perceptual speed, reasoning, number and word meaning.

How to use them well

Short sessions beat long ones. Ten focused minutes, followed by a review of every mistake, teach you more than an hour of mindless repetition. The seven-day plan shows where practice sessions fit, and the timing guide explains what to do when you are running out of time.

The tools display advertising on their own pages. See the privacy page for how that works.
